Coaches Corner

This is a dedicated section for all of the volunteer coaches of the WYSL. There are links to relevant topics and resources to help you bring a positive experience to the kids participating in the league. The Board of Directors thanks all of the parents and other volunteers for the generosity with their time in helping us develop one of the best leagues in Massachusetts, we hope that you find these resources of help. For suggestions on content, please email the Director of Coaching and Player Development with ideas at coach-pd@wysl.org

Licensing Requirements

In an effort to provide Worcester youth players with a more comprehensive soccer experience, the Board has required that all travel coaches and assistants have an E license through MYSA All recreational coaches Age levels u6 thru u8 must have G License & u10 recreational coaches and assistants must have F License. There is a one season exemption for all 1st time Rec level coaches only Licensing Course Information is located on the MYSA website, this provides descriptions of each course level. The Calendar for licensing courses being offered by MYSA is updated frequently so please check the link often. Courses being sponsored by WYSL will be posted on our website, the league plans to hopefully sponsor 4-5 courses annually. Questions related to courses being sponsored by WYSL should be directed to the registrar at registrar@wysl.org Coaches are reimbursed for tuition costs for taking courses please contact Director of Coaching and Player Development with any questions at coach-pd@wysl.org


CORI Forms

All coaches and volunteers need to submit a CORI/kidsafe form to Mass Youth Soccer. These CORI forms are not related to the checks submitted as a school employee or volunteer, you will need to fill out both forms.
The forms can be found by clicking on this link - Registration - Mass Youth Soccer Association. If you have submitted the CORI background information form after June 2005 there is no need to submit a new one. Any one who has not submitted the CORI background form, is a new coach or administrator must submit the form.

You may fill the online form only to MYSA. There is also a Word version that can be filled out and submitted via email, the instructions are on the site.

The overriding league of WYSL travel teams for spring and fall seasons. Standings can be found at the MAYS site and schedules are located. If you have any difficulties getting on the sites, please contact the Travel Director at travel@wysl.org
